ABOUT ME

AUTOBIOGRAPHY
My name is Andrea Tapia. I was born in French Camp and raised here in Stockton, CA. I am the eldest of 4 children and a first-generation college student. I am a transfer student at the University of the Pacific with a double major in Media X and Studio Art. I transferred from San Joaquin Delta College where I earned my Associates in Studio Art Transfer and Associates in Art-Transfer. Soon I will add to that and earn an Associate in Art History and an Associate in English. Currently, I am working part-time as a Behavioral Therapist in San Joaquin and Stanislaus County working with kids with autism. I truly enjoy getting to work with these kiddos and getting to see their growth every day. Luckily, I also have time as a freelancer creating two-dimensional as well as three-dimensional works of art.
When I am not busy studying or working, I enjoy spending my time traveling and getting to explore and learn about these different places. This helps me to relax from the hectic schedule that I always end up having. From studying, and working, to helping out my family, I can always appreciate some quiet and alone time. During my downtime, if I am not traveling, I can always enjoy reading or watching movies from comedy to horror to animation, yet my favorites have to be romance and thrillers. I can always rewatch Pride and Prejudice (2005) and Gone Girl.
Through watching movies and reading books, I have been inspired to create art and stories which is what I am pursuing as an illustrator and, most importantly, storyboard artist for animated movies such as Up (2009) and Wall-E (2008). Seeing behind-the-scenes features in movies, I have come to love these stories and been infatuated with creating the perfect story. I know one day, although I’ll be behind the camera, I will see one of my personal stories on the big screen.
